About the Salt

The Salt River runs through the Star Valley south of Jackson Hole. It is known for its dry fly fishing.

It holds brown, rainbow and cutthroat trout across riffles, deep pools and meadow stretches. It is close to Jackson Hole but gets less pressure than the better-known water nearby.

Mayfly and caddis hatches carry the dry fly fishing through the season, and the peak runs through July and August.
